Upgrading Igloo

Igloo versions track Umbraco's major releases, and there is no upgrade path that skips a major version. You move up one major version at a time, rebuilding your content for the new editor as you go.

v17 is a fresh start for upgrades

Versions prior to v17 have no official upgrade path. Moving between major versions has always meant rebuilding your content by hand for the new editor. v17 is where that changes. Built on Umbraco's Block Grid and the new theme system, it gives Igloo a stable foundation, so upgrades from v17 onwards are designed to be supported and far smoother. It's one of the biggest reasons to move to v17.

Upgrading from Igloo v13
